MurrinaEarth GTK + Metacity Theme

Earth GTK ThemeEarth GTK Theme

Yes, I am obsessed with the MurrinaEarth style. Since the Murrine engine and styles were intended for Gnome, I decided to replicate the XP theme for Gnome. Included is the GTK theme, which of course requires the Murrine engine, and a matching Metacity theme. I've also uploaded the font I'm using in my screenshot, Tahoma. The icon theme I am using is Tango.

New Site Style

I finally got around to changing the design to this website to something I actually like, instead of the mess I had before. I designed it around the Murrina Earth visual style that I've recently been loving. I think it looks way more professional than what I was using before. I'll be keeping it this way for a while now, with small tweaks here and there.

Keeping with all this Murrina Earth styling, I'll be releasing GTK theme )and possibly a GDM theme) based on the XP visual style. I'm surprised that I had to create the theme, since the XP visual style is based off the Murrine engine, which was made for GTK themes. Regardless, I've recreated the theme for GTK, complete with matching Metacity window borders.

Audiosurf: Current Value - Fear/Machine (Demo Duomix)

Here's me playing one of my more ballistic songs in Audiosurf. It's from Dieselboy's new album, Substance D. This was my first time using Fraps, so it gets a little out of sync. I'll have to fix that for future videos.

Team Fortress 2 Facebook App Style

Screenshot of it in actionUsually, I don't care much for most of the "applications" on Facebook. However, I do like to brag about my Team Fortress 2 scores. Mohamed Mansour's Facebook application let's me do that right on my Facebook page. The only problem I had with it was that the default setup only displayed the stats for one class. To solve this, I decided to whip up my own style for the application that displays all the classes. Here's that code for your copy-paste pleasure.

Rockbox Theme: Earth

Continuing on the idea of my last post, I've created a Rockbox theme (inspired by the MurrinaXP - TangoFancyClearlooks visual style) for the Sansa E200 series players. This theme uses the Nimbus font, so make sure that you have the Rockbox font pack installed. To install the theme itself, just extract the zip file's contents to your .rockbox folder.

Rainmeter Skin: BlackStrip

On Linux, I'm a big fan of Conky, a light system monitor. I like to configure it so that I have a small strip across the top of my monitor so that I barely notice it during normal use.

I wanted to create something similar on Windows, which led me to Rainmeter. The skin I've made, BlackStrip achieves this goal. I tried to make it match well with the MurrinaXP - TangoFancyClearlooks visual style. The skin itself is a bit specific to my system in that it's made for a screen that's 1440 pixels wide, and I've chosen to display the capacities of my C: and D: drives. However, I'm providing the skin here for any one who can use that configuration as is or wants to tweak it to fit their personal needs.

Here's a screenshot.

Sakaki Wallpapers

As you may have read on the About page, I'm an anime fan and one of my favorite animes is Azumanga Daioh. Since Sakaki is my favorite character, I decided to make some SVG wallpapers of her with three different color uniforms. I know she never had an orange uniform, but I made one since it matches my desktop better. Each one is 1920 by 1200 pixels and will fit a 16:10 monitor (you can always crop it to 4:3 or whatever else you use). Enjoy.

Brand New Site!

Whew! I finally finished build my new web site. I've switched over to Drupal as a CMS, because I really needed a way to make new posts. Before this update, I used to manually enter the posts into MySQL. Sounds messy, huh?

Anyway, if you've never visited this site before, it's my blog about technology and whatever else comes to my mind. If you want to find out more about me, go ahead and read the About page.

That's all for now.
